Specification Changes 2014 to 2015 Models

I had agreed to purchase a 2014 308 RETS on the dealer's lot. I later changed the order to a 2015 318 RETS, which has identical length and features. What I noticed is that there are significant differences in the dry weight and tongue weight between the two models. The 308 dry weight is listed in the brochure as 7705 and tongue weight of 1075. The 318 shows a dry weight of 7385 and a tongue weight of 905. Does anyone know what accounts for the differences? I suspect that tongue weight can be reduced by moving the axles forward a few inches, but I don't understand what was done to reduce dry weights. Anyone with thoughts about this?
