Storing a bed topper?

Purchased 2017 24MBH. Heard that bed needs a topper because so so hard. Since this trailer is limited on space already...curious where people are storing theirs to get it out of the way during the day? Assume bed won't go up with it on.

I might not understand the question.

Your talking about the bed in your camper, not the 'bed' of your truck correct? If so, I consider a mattress 'topper' to be a permanent install. It never leaves the bed.

Why would you remove it? I'm probably missing something.... If there are concerns about the plywood that supports the bed not being able to support the extra weight of the topper, get thicker plywood and beefier struts. I doubt this is even an issue though. Most of the ones I've seen and used don't really weigh that much.

Or just replace the mattress and be done with it.

Yes, Murphy bed in camper that folds up and down. Have read that people get memory foam topper for on the mattress bc too hard. Curious if bed still folds up into the wall that on it or if they take off and store it somewhere when using couch.

We use a 1" memory foam on our Murphy. It closes fine and puts no stress on the latches. It is not an exact fit on the mattress, but we love how it "sleeps."

Have a 23MBH with Murphy bed & 2" Queen foam topper. It folds up and stores/travels just fine.

Thank you! We'll see how it goes for a bit but good to know there are options and that I don't need to take it on and off to store. Thanks all!

We've a 23mbh w Murphy. We hated the mattress, n put an 8 inch RV shirt queen in. It's heavier for Sur but totally worth it. I think there's enough space in there folded up to add a 3 inch feather bed on top of that even.
