Table cover

Hello,

Would you please recommend any durable table cover? I bought a couple online and all were thin plastic that was not durable.

Thanks!

Do you mean for a picnic table? I just use an extra long cloth tablecloth. I have a couple of them that I purchased at a discount store. They are not fancy. I just wash them after every trip. If you mean for inside the camper I just use placements since the table wipes off easily.

Apologies for not being clear. Yes, a picnic table. Thanks for the tip!

Hi Bono. I went to JoAnn's fabric and bought a couple yards of some nice marine grade vinyl in a color to match our camper. It is VERY durable, just wipe it down and pack it away. We've had it for over 5 years!! The great thing about it is that is is a great weight and doesn't blow around when it's windy. We don't have to clip it at all.

Marine Vinyl | Jo-Ann If you get yourself a 50% off coupon, it's really worth every penny.

Just don't buy those cheesy Coleman or Coughlan's plastic covers and you'll be OK.

We buy our table covers at Walmart, but not in the camping section. Get a good quality vinyl one and they last us a season, then we toss it and get a new one.

I use a real nice one that's like a vinyl on one side and a cloth on the other the size that I bought is 52x66 and it's called Travel Mat by quantum auto. I've used it for at least 10 years now, always on the picnic table and to the beach. I know you'll find it when you do a search. Actually it's like a rubber material on the back.

We have 2 of the red checkered "cheesy ones" with the clips to hold them down. The 2nd one is still in its original package because the 1st one hasn't worn out after 10 years.

Well, there ya go! Different strokes for different folks.
Our family may be a bit more voracious tearing into a meal (and getting some of the tablecloth at the same time!)

Dewey, sorry. I can't in good conscience recommend the cheesy ones. Our first one had a lot of sentimental value so the DW bought another one. How can a table cloth have sentimental value? I won't go into it. BUT I showed her your post and we'll be getting a new one per your recommendation. Thank you as I never really liked the thin plastic cheesy ones in the first place.

This is so ghetto but I bought a really thick 8mm thick pool table cover at a yard sale a few years back, but it makes the best picnic table cover I've ever seen. It has weights on the corners to hold it down.

Table Cover

We moved away from the weights to hold the table cloth in place. We now use a light weight fishing line, like 4 or 6 pound. Tie the line around the table and the cloth stays in place on any windy day.

For years we too used the "cheesy" red checkered coleman and I always hated it. I finely bit the bullet and bought a nice 100% spill proof polyester one and love it. Several different sizes and patterns to choose from. No more cheesy.
