Tank Selector Question

I have a dumb question, and I'm sure it won't be the last one I have.

As it says in my signature we have an '06 Jay Flight and despite searching through the giant stack of paperwork, owner's manuals, etc... meticulously maintained by the first and previous owner, I can seem to find anything about the propane selector. Primarily I don't know if it is an auto-switchover unit. If I need to later I'll take a picture of it to post, but does anyone know for sure that the 2006 models all came with auto-change over tank selectors?

Just look at it...regardless of rather or not it came with one. Prior owners may have added or removed one.

It's pretty obvious, the manual switchover is just a lever.

Auto-switchover is bulkier and should have some indication of which tank's being used and/or full empty/status.

If you can't tell, post a pic.

Forgot to follow up on this. I did go out and look closer after the reply by 'charles_cincy' and it was fairly obvious as stated that it was an auto change over regulator. What reminded me of this post was checking on the tanks today and noticed the indicator was red but the water heater was still working this morning, so it also works properly. Guess it's time to fill up a tank. Then with two full tanks I'll probably be good until 2018 with how fast we use propane.

I do not turn on both my tanks at once. I want to know when 1 tank runs out so I cabn have it refilled, that is why I do not use the auto switchover unit.

The first time your furnace shuts off at 2 am and its 10 degrees outside, you will rethink this one! Don't ask me how I know!

I'm with you on that one Joe. My last rig didn't have auto changeover and I had to do that more than once.

I wish the RV industry would make an auto change over valve with a wiring connection to an LED on your monitor panel. Seems like that would be a cheap and simple thing to do. When one tank runs dry - the valve switches over and the light comes on in the coach.

I've seen some aftermarket solutions for this but the are complicated - they have optical sensors that try to look at the red flag on the valve and detect it's position.

Of course, there should also be a simple, cheap tank level solution - like the SeeLevel monitors - built for dual TT and FW tanks. Their only solution is for single Propane tank motorhomes.
