thermal pkg

just picked up my 2015 jayflight 29qbs yesterday, so excited! the only thing im questioning now is my underbelly. i have the thermal pkg and its supposed to be enclosed but there are def openings in it. i figured with it enclosed it would help keep mice and such out but the way it is it might actually give them a better place to live! should i get under there and tape it up as best i can? is it supposed to be sealed?

Mine is like yours. The bottom is closed up. I added some sealing foam to the small holes and I didn't get any rodents yet.

Thermal package has more to do with the extra layer of insulation added to the walls than it has to do with the underbelly of the RV.

Ok so i spent some time underneath my unit today and its actually a lot more enclosed then i originally thought. I'm going to have to talk to the dealership to see if filling the small holes that i have with an expanding foam is contraindicated in any way.

Great Stuff makes a foam that is supposed to block pests but I'm but sure if it hold up to their claim.

This should have been done properly at the factory, they use foam to seal the places where the underbelly has gaps (like around the GW and BW tank drain valves, etc.)
You can do the same with a spray foam. Get one from a big box hardware store that says it is for concrete backyard ponds. It is waterproof (won't absorb water) and it is also black in color, so blends in with the coroplast.

Thanks for all the advice guys. It is sealed around the pipes and propane hoses, there's just some spots that look like corners where cut (literally) and just has a fist size hole. I'm going to take some pics next time I'm with the trailer. I'm sure that'll be soon cause I can't stop thinking about what to do to get ready for our first trip ever in a camper! Soooo excited!! Thanks again.

I used gorilla tape black and it works great stayed on fine all winter it sticks great to corrugated and pipes but will come off if needed

bring it to the dealer its a warranty issue ...i had same issue dealer fixerd it
