Thermostat feed fixed!

Last fall my A/C would not turn on. I traced the problem to a lack of power at the thermostat and ran a jumper from a nearby overhead light as a temporary fix.

The DW had been nagging me to fix the problem or call the dealer to schedule an appointment. I knew the thermostat power was fed by the furnace which was dead too. I assumed mice had chewed thru a wire but found a thread about a reset button on Atwood furnaces so I took a chance an investigated further. I had to remove the sofa and sine thin ply covering the furnace but there it was... the illusive reset switch. I flipped it and have power back to my thermostat. Why Jayco would build the Great Wall around this little switch is beyond me but I hope this helps someone else down the line.

It helped me. 200 miles from dealer. Furnace quit. Asked dealer if they need the trailer or would just the furnace be ok (warranty). They were good with just the furnace. Removed furnace. Air doesn't work. Thought maybe the thermostat got power from the furnace.

Searched for "air no furnace". Yours was the first post.

Now for you to be real helpful, do you know which wire at the furnace feeds 12v to the furnace?

Thanks
Tom

On the wall side, the red/white striped wire is POS and the thick white wire is NEG.

Oops, that's at the thermostat. Should be a blue wire at the furnace with a red/white wire connected to it. Mine was labeled "thermostat" on that blue wire.
