Thinking about upgrading our mattress...

In our Jayco Flight 22FB to a sleep number type. Anyone have one?

My nephew has one and loves it.
We've put the memory foam toppers on and have had good results. 2" at Costco for about $100+

We have a sleep number bed in our house that we have had for 9 years. We absolutely love the sleep number. If we were full timing in our TT right now we would probably put it on a list of things we want. Since we aren't, we put in a serta 3 in memory foam topper and i have to say it makes a huge difference and is very comfortable sleeping.

We just added a foam topped to the queen bed and found that to be plenty soft for us. Before that you could feel the spring coils. Now it is great.

We bought a Short Queen for our 5er and LOVE it!!! If you are a Good Sam member you can save 10% from Camping World. We also have one at home we bought in 2007 that has seen better days. Hoping the one in the camper holds up better. But it is a great night sleep

I have the RV King with Radius corners Sleep Number. I bought it this past January and absolutely love it. CW is the only source for this particular model, but they put it on sale right after January 1, 2012 and it was a great deal. Will they do that again in 2013?

I have a sleep number and HATE it... might be because I sleep alone but I am always rolling towards the center... SN sent me a foam pad to put over the split but helped very little when I get home in April I will but the memory foam topper on it and see if that helps...

You might try a very thick mattress pad, not a foam topper. I have a sleep number and use a very heavy mattress pad. No rolling to the center for me.

We have the Costco gel foam topper and really like it. Way cheaper than a new mattress

We had the local amishman make ours. But be prepared the gas struts may not hold the bed up. There is another thread on the forum that addresses that problem.

I have one at home and like it. They are a bit pricey. Of course, the pump runs on AC power. Hooked up to AC, that's no problem. If boondocking I suppose topping it off every few days when the generator is running would take care of it. Or, a pure sine wave inverter would do the trick.

In the trailer, I sleep on an Intex inflatable mattress. Just a cheap one, queen size with a foot pump. Cost about seventeen bucks at Walmart. Comfort is excellent. I've slept on waterbeds, Sleep Number, and high-end memory foam mattresses and haven't found anything as comfortable as the Intex. Yeah, it'll fail eventually, but the replacement cost is not high. And, for what it's worth, there's no place for bed mites to live. Also, there is no lighter weight mattress, so access to the under-bed storage is optimal.

Can't speak to how it would be for two people. My wife is a noisy sleeper, so she's at the other end of our 26BH.

We put a Comfortaire in our eagle as soon as we got it. Also have one at home. They are about the same as sleep number, just don't advertise and a bit cheaper. After almost seven years, no problems and wouldn't go back to innerspring. Never had a tempurpedic-type but have slept on them in hotels a couple times. Prefer the dual bladder air mattress as DW likes her side harder than I do.

I moved the 10" Dynasty Deluxe Memory Foam mattress from our last trailer. I bought it from Amazon. It continues to sleep very, very well. Probably better than the mattress in the house.

The biggest drawback is it's very heavy. If I had it to do over, I might try a 7" instead.

I bought a 2017 WhiteHawk... used it for a 2 week camping trip ..mattress was indented..followed procedure for warranty claim with dealer and JAYCO ..ended up getting $65.00 for a new mattress! What a joke warranty is .. was told at time of purchase mattress was an upgrade.. best in the industry! Totally disappointed with JAYCO and dealer! Never again!

Not to get upset. They're all junk. The upgrade is probably just of the price! There are a lot of threads on stock mattresses, all saying the same thing. And it's not just Jayco. Just swallow it like we all did and get a decent mattress. Some say they get satisfaction from a thick pad Personally, I don't see how. The base mattress is what does or doesn't support us.

We bought a zinus memory foam for ours. It works very well for us. I was skeptical at first as I thought I would sink in too far. Not the case once you lay down your weight is distributed and it holds you up. I think we bought the 12in. Short queen off amazon for 300 dollars or so.

If we have to go with a replacement mattress, weight will be a concern with us, too. Most residential mattresses I've seen weigh 100 lbs. or more. Due to the way the mattress is situated in our Jayco Eagle, it's very hard to make the bed without lifting up a good portion of the mattress. Not to mention any additional weight will also make accessing the underbed storage area even more precarious. Lastly, we'd like to prevent our tongue weight from inching ever higher.

If/when the need arises, got our fingers crossed we can find a firm, lightweight, thin, mattress somewhere.
