Has anyone come up with a simpler solution for the 50 amp threaded power cord? One thing that is challenging at night is trying to thread that thing without cross threading, especially when the wife tries to do it. Would be easier if the trailer end just plugged in like the panel end. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Way better design. But, a little pricey. I'd rather have the smartplug any day, and maybe soon enough I'll install one.
Another option, is swap out the male Furrion plug on the cord for a Marinco that just has the short twist lock. The furrion receptacle will receive and work with either one. You'll see the part notched into the threads to receive the other type. I've used both on the furrion inlet. My marinco just has the twist to lock deal.

I've not had a problem screwing the ring on. Guess I got a lot of practice when I owned boats. At any rate, unless you are expecting some rain I don't see why you even need to screw the ring down at all if it's causing a problem. The cords a twist lock so it's not going anywhere. The ring is just for waterproofing.
