Time for new AC

2005 31 BHS in great shape has a failing AC. Time to replace the unit. Can anyone point me to a source they like for purchasing a unit? Can I install myself? Should I go bigger than original unit?

I think the roof units only come in 13.5 and 15k. More important is to get one that is a direct replacement for the OE.

You can do it yourself with a little help. I just added a second a/c to mine. The way my brother and i got it to the roof, i placed two 2x12 on the bed of the truck and set the a/c on them. We then backed the truck up as close to the camper as possible.then just lifted it up and set it on roof on a heavy blanket. I was able to maneuver it by myself on the roof while my brother lined it up inside. I suspect you could get one down the same way. They are not that heavy, just bulky.
Good luck

That's excellent...sounds perfect. Did you buy yours at a dealer?

I was looking at one at PPL. They had the best price i found.
I got lucky though a friend of a friend told me about a used one that was only a year old. I contacted the person and we bartered a deal. I feel great about the deal and now we can stay cold during the Hot Texas summers.
