Tire Care when Not in Storage

I know it is advisable to put your TT up on wood blocks and cover the tires when in long term storage, but what about between camping trips (say 2 or 3 weeks sitting in my driveway)? Is this good practice or overkill?

I don't do anything. Mine is sitting in my driveway now.

If you have covers, maybe put those on.

otherwise, they are not that fragile.

When I park mine in the driveway, I level it, throw the X chocks on torqued against the wheels just lightly, put the stabilizers down, and plug it in. That way I can run my fridge a day before we leave to cool it down and not worry about it being un-level. It sits between my house and garage and faces south, so the tires don't get direct sunlight. If it sits out in the open with sun on the tires every day I would probably throw some covers on them. I also keep my blinds down to keep any sun off the furniture.

After seeing the way the tires dry out from the sun I started using wheel covers when my TT is sitting more than a week. I am hoping the $30.00 spent on the covers may get me an extra year out of my tires.

Forget the wheel covers. Get AEROSPACE 303, spray it on a few times a year, and thats it. It was developed for the military... specifically the tires on airplanes sitting on runways. Its not the cheapest, but it can be used on almost anything to prevent UV damage. I bought a half gallon four years ago and still have half after doing two trailers.

I just prop up a cut sheet of plywood against the tire facing the sun while in storage or between long periods of use. Not sure if Armorall does anything to help but I ues it on the tires every now and then.
