Tires

I'm sure this has come up. I am a auto tech. but I would like to know when most of you change your trailer tires. I have a 338RET 2015. Thanks

Many of us doubt the quality of OEM trailer tires. Some replace their tires ASAP, others wait a year or more. We are replacing our OEM tires after 2 years. They look fine, but we are replacing them with a higher quality tire and a higher load range.

For most of us, the age of the tires is more important than the mileage. If the tires appear to be in good condition, it seems most plan to replace trailer tires that are 4 to 5 years old.

Hope that helps.

Trailer tires are a hot topic. They typically do not wear out like car tires. They sit a lot under a heavy load and are always under heavy load and near their maximum capacity. Here is a sticky to a posting regarding trailer tires.

I replaced my OEM tires at 4 years of age, I noticed some cracking in the sidewalls, and one tire had fairly good wear from scrubbing to get into my driveway.

Good Year and Sailun are talked up often.

But you will hear of others that folks have had good luck with.

I'd add Maxxis to the list of good trailer tires.

Some folks with heavier trailers move to LT truck tires.
