Tires

I have a Jayco Jayflight G2 23 FB with the original tires on it, Good Year Marathon, 205/75R15. They are 5 years old and look like new, no cracks and great tread but I know time is a killer. I priced new tires today and the shop said $125.00 for Good Year + all those fees, mounting balancing ETC. would be $450 out the door.
I went to another place, Firestone and the have Maxxis, GT MAXMILER ST 205/75R15 10 ply with a speed rating of "Q" and he said they would do 4 of them for $400.00 out the door, Sounds like a great deal and I'm planning on getting them next week. O.K. now my question, anyone here have any experience with a MAXXIS tire? Good or bad,

I had Maxxis tires on my old 5th wheel & never had a problem with them. I'll put them on my Jayco when it's time for new tires.

Maxxis is my TT tire of choice, never had any issues with them since 2005 on my Eagle. Replacing my four original Maxxis tires this spring with a new set of Maxxis.

Thank you for the replies, Since I'm new to all the trailer stuff I really appreciate the good information I can get from here, I'll have the new tires put on Monday or Tuesday.

we dont replace our trailer tires at work unless they are wore out some of the triple axles carry 15 to 20 thousand and in 10 years of being there ove never seen one explode even when they are wore to the wires lol but better safe than sorry

I'm giving my take off tires to a friend from Church. He says he can get some use from them. Like I said earlier, they look like new with no weather cracks or wear but for $400.00 I feel better with new tires than the 5 year old ones. Plus if I sell the trailer next year to buy a motor home the new tires will be a plus.
