To Plug or Not to Plug
I have heard different theories about keeping a TT plugged in to shore power or not plugging in when not in use.
As a newbie to this I would like to do the correct thing to keep everything working correctly all the time.
It may be a week or a month in between trips for us so we are looking for direction.

Personally, I unplug from shore power and disconnect the battery from the TT when storing. I re-connect the battery and plug in to shore power when I am loading the camper.

I do not have shore power available when the trailer is stored. I disconnect the battery and that seems to work fine. If you do not disconnect the battery, the battery will discharge due to the alarm in the trailer. The life of lead acid batteries is shortened everytime this happens.

I hear people talk about a quick disconnect on the battery. We have a 2013 26RLS and I haven't read about or was told about one on this unit.

Ours is stored on our side yard. Don keeps it plugged in when we aren't on the road or hooked up at the cg. It's three years old and no problems as a result.

I leave mine plugged in, since the outlet is right next to the trailer.

Had every TT, FW and MH we've owned(since 1977 didn't worry about the pop-up) plugged in 24/7 when at home. Just be sure you check the battery periodically. Never had any issues.

I pulled mine from September to March, when we went south. But the rest of the time it's either plugged in with the fridge running, or I'll turn the power on to the plug a day or so every week or two to keep the battery charged. That is my plan for this fall when it will be winterized from mid Sept. to mid Dec. If that causes a problem, I'll find out. Still pretty new at this myself.

I keep mine plugged in 24/7. I have a power dynamics 9240 with charge wizard.

We're on shore power 24/7 when not on the road. For winter storage, I remove the battery and keep it inside the house where I check the water and run a slow charge monthly.

I keep ours plugged in 24/7 also and have done so for the past 30 years with no problems.

The only time we are not plugged in is when we are on the road. We do check the batteries on a regular basis.

Pluged in 24/7 unless we are the road. Check the batteries every 3 weeks or so. No problems.

We also keep ours plugged in all the time while at home. It keeps the batt charged, and no problems have occurred to date. As for the batt quick disconnect, we use one that mounts on one of the batt posts between cable and post, with a thumbscrew to disconnect. This is the same one that many antique car owners use while their baby is is storage for the winter months.
