Yeah, I guess I posted a little premature. But I remember back when anything with 100,000 miles was used up, smoking out the pipe, and leaking from everywhere. Those were on the back line of the used car dealers for $95.00 as-is!

I remember a time when nobody would spend money to repair a car with more than 75,000 miles showing on the odometer. "Adjustments" were common.

My sentiments EXACTLY!! LOL!! Except I've already moved into my "forever" truck. Though, at less than 40 years old, I hope it doesn't outlive me!!

My dad has an '06 Chevy 2500 6.0 gasser that has less than 50K on the clock. He has always had a "company car" so he never puts miles on his truck. Tows and hauls everything with it just fine. He hauled my step brother's smaller toy hauler on a 6hr + journey with it a few weeks ago with no problems. Regular maintenance is kept up, but some of the "stuff" on the inside (switches and stuff) is starting to break down. He still loves his truck though. His wife and I keep telling him that he's getting ready to retire, perhaps it's time to get a new truck. He won't do it. Says there's nothing wrong with his truck, why should he get rid of it?

Whenever I get an urge to trade, all I have to do is go to any dealer, and look at the sticker. I get shocked back to reality, and go back home.... happy with what's in the driveway.

This was my "old" iron. 2003 Duramax. Was just getting broken in good, at 164K miles when I stumbled across my current tv, a 2009 Duramax. Priced at $8k below book value, with under 37k miles, it was too good to pass up.

Here is my 2005 Duramax with 143,800 on the clock. Coincidently I am negotiating a deal on a 2016 Duramax today and kind of hoping the dealer doesn't meet my offer because if not, I will just keep this one (with no payments). Have had a couple repairs that have sat me back about $3000 this past year, computer, water pump and front differential bearings but the motor and trans seem pretty healthy at present.

You gotta start somewhere. I bet most of the "old iron" mentioned here was "new iron" at one point.

Yeah, I have a "brand new" truck, but it's also only my second truck ever. I finally (for the first time in my entire life) feel like I'm in the vehicle I was meant to have. Hopefully, I can post it up in an "old iron" thread some day.

Seeing all these older trucks makes me want to go resurrect a neglected one as a project!

2001 F250 Lariat with 230K miles. I wouldn't give up the 7.3L motor for anything else.

Our 2006 Sequoia was purchased new 10 years ago (almost to the day). It's not quite broken in yet with only 75,000 miles. Still looks like new due to being garage kept. It runs quiet and smooth like the day I drove it off the lot. I'm hoping we'll be selling it in a few years when we upgrade to a larger RV (fingers crossed!). When the time comes I'll have to deal with the sticker shock of the new truck prices. I would love a diesel truck, but we will probably go for a heavy duty gasser.

Not mine, but I've seen it around in some of our local campgrounds.

1972 Chevrolet, odometer reads 53,000 and change. I have no idea how many times it's turned over. Crate motor at 97,000 last time around. We don't use it if we're going any distance, but if just going to the lake for the weekend, it does the job fine.

Still have my 04 Avalanche 8.1 Bog block. With only 34K miles, will keep her until we move up to a fifth wheel.

2001 2500HD with 108,000 miles and still in very good shape. I am, however, selling the truck next spring for a newer one in anticipation of a TT upsize (probably a 28BHBE) in early 2019.
