Trailer clearance for off road.....

I take my tent trailer off road with me. The 20.5x8-10 tires and solid axle aren't really good for such terrain.

Has anyone ever lifted the axle and used full sized wheels?

Cant answer first hand... never took mine off road.... Someone actually builds one for off road use.... looks cool.. sort of...

How do you like the quad steer? I wanted it but the dealer talked me out of it.

Love the four wheel steering. The turn radius is like a sub compact. The only drawback is that it requires one size tire only. Any smaller or bigger and the steering sensors start screaming.

As to the trailer height and full sized wheels, I also have a early Porsche that has a trailer hitch. I was thinking of putting a set of Porsche Fuchs alloys on the trailer to match the 911. The older 356 models used to tow teardrops to car meets.

I need to measure the axle flange to see if 5x130 lug pattern will fit. If worse comes to worse, I can always replace the axle with one that also has surge brakes.
