After a little more than a year, I can finally participate in the poll. Picked up my new 2017 Jay Flight 23RB Friday. It's the first new RV I've ever owned. Today, I start to redesign and rebuild the bed platform. Rebuild in the sense I'm going to make the front pass through storage a true enclosed storage space, and turn the under bed storage area into it's own enclosed storage area. Most trailers I've looked at already come this way, but Jayco chooses to do it differently.
I'm also going to used a thicker piece of plywood as the platform also. The 1/4 inch piece is a little thin for my taste. I'll use a 3/8 piece.
I'm also going to add some pieces of plywood to shield certain water lines in various places, such as the rear cargo hold where the black flush water line is located. I just don't want stuff being put in the cargo hold to accidently hit the water line, causing a leak. Same goes for a few other places such as under the bathroom sink, etc.
That's OK. I knew it coming in and chose the unit anyway.
One thing I've notice already. My old trailer would wiggle like the dickens if I didn't put down the 4 stabilizers. I haven't put down the 4 stabilizers on the 23RB yet, but it's feels as solid as a rock still.
