After a little more than a year, I can finally participate in the poll. Picked up my new 2017 Jay Flight 23RB Friday. It's the first new RV I've ever owned. Today, I start to redesign and rebuild the bed platform. Rebuild in the sense I'm going to make the front pass through storage a true enclosed storage space, and turn the under bed storage area into it's own enclosed storage area. Most trailers I've looked at already come this way, but Jayco chooses to do it differently.

I'm also going to used a thicker piece of plywood as the platform also. The 1/4 inch piece is a little thin for my taste. I'll use a 3/8 piece.

I'm also going to add some pieces of plywood to shield certain water lines in various places, such as the rear cargo hold where the black flush water line is located. I just don't want stuff being put in the cargo hold to accidently hit the water line, causing a leak. Same goes for a few other places such as under the bathroom sink, etc.

That's OK. I knew it coming in and chose the unit anyway.

One thing I've notice already. My old trailer would wiggle like the dickens if I didn't put down the 4 stabilizers. I haven't put down the 4 stabilizers on the 23RB yet, but it's feels as solid as a rock still.

Owned my 1997 Jayco Eagle 262FK for 4 years now. My parents had it since 2001, giving it some upgrades for its 20th Birthday!

Just moved up from a Popup to an SLX 145 RB. It's small trailer that's just right for my Wife and I. Looking forward to not having to watch weather constantly like with the popup.

Just coming to the end of our first summer in our 2017 JayFlight 27BHS. It's been a great summer and we're loving it. Learned a lot but still have a lot to learn.

I've done some small mods also to help defend exposed waterline and connections in storage areas. Also planning on knocking out the center panel in the overhead pantry. a door, or even open space makes more sense.

New Whitehawk 30RDS

We have just joined the Whitehawk family with the purchase of a new model 30RDS this is our second travel trailer unit. It replaces a 25 foot Microlight that served us well for 5 seasons but we felt in our advancing years we need a little more comfort. We (my wife and I) have decided we are in it till we drop so we figured it was time for an upgrade. I'm sure to be poking around here and asking some questions from time to time.

Best Regards, Ed B.
