TRouble getting trailer off hitch ball

I usually grease up the hitch ball before I put trailer on it

last 2 times I had to jack it up pretty high and jump on hitch to pop it out of trailer tongue...this cant be normal or good

is there something else I can use to lube the hitch ball

also, is there something I can spray into trailer tongue, like a degreaser, to keep it clean and working properly...

is there a trick to this I am missing

When I disconnect trailer from truck, I usually jack it up to get weight off hitch to remove wd bars, then back down to remove hitch pin and unlatch it, then I start jacking it back up to get it off the ball, just takes the ball with it...I can see inside where the piece that grabs the ball is clear of the ball, but as I jack it up, it contacts the ball again...wtf...
