TT packed- 2 months-approx 3200 miles

The TT is packed and the is ready. My DW, daughter and I take out tomorrow (9 Jun) for an approx 4100 mile (milage # wrong in title) trip from San Antonio, TX to Woodstock, NH for a two month road trip. I will be giving the Ford 3.5 Ecoboost a good personal test. There are a few overnight parking lot stays as well as TT parks. We are looking forward to escaping the south TX summer heat. I hope we have an uneventful trip there and back.

Travel safe!! Met a young family awhile ago that travel from BC south to California east across the southern states and north along the east coast then back thru Canada from the east to the west. It took a year.

Expplorer, life is a adventure. Just go and have fun. Last year on our holiday I fell off a log during a hike in a state park and broke three bones in my lower back during our first week. The Emerg. Department would only give me enough pain killers till I got home to see my own doctor. Nine days later I was well enough to go back to the campground with my wife who drove. Within a few days I was well enough to drive the rest of the trip. Was one of the best holidays we have had. Things may happen and usually do. Our awning arm bent and we had trouble with our slide but I was able to repair them but it didn't stop us from having a good time.

You're probably on your way as I write this. Have a great time and let us know how the Ecoboost performs along the way, MPGs, hill climbing, et cetera.

Day 1 has ended with 500 miles behind us. Here in Musfreeboro, AR. The Ecoboost performed well pulling the TT (6500 lbs) without any difficulty. Haven't hit any real big hills/steep grades yet. MPG has avg about 9.2. That is all for now

Today we are spending the day at the Crater of the Diamond State park. Unfortunately we did not find any diamonds. We take out tomorrow to who knows where.

You should not have any trouble with your rig in the mountains. Our 25Z is 6000# gross and we pass most semi's going up hill. 500 miles a day is more ambition than we have. We usually go between 250-300. Staying under 60 gives us between 10 and 11 MPG most of the time. 65-70 reduces it to 9.

Just got back from a 5 week trip to MA and VT with stops in NC for several days on the way up and several in Luray VA on the way back.

TeamFoxy- the 500 miles is just a one time thing. We new we had to be to be at our current location by end of day yesterday. The rest of the trip will be less miles per day.

End of day 4. We are in Huntington, WV for the night. Last night was an overnight stop at Walmart in Nashville, TN. We had to hook up the Yamaha twin 2000is for the AC. It was so humid and hot. The Ecoboost engine is doing well. We are avg about 10.5 mpg now with many hilly areas.

Tomorrow we are off to Hershey, PA

Can't wait to hear about your visit to Hershey. It's on my list for next year.

You've got a great trip planned but you're going to be dead tired when you get there traveling so many miles per day. We just returned from a 1 month trip to Utah from Collierville, TN and we traveled 4400+ miles. We had a ball but we treated it as a vacation and rested along the way. We went out using I-70 and returned using I-40. Don't think we will try the I-40 through OK the next time, didn’t enjoy the tornados at all.

We have a 26RLS and our TV is a 2011 2500 Silverado (Gas). Great combination. Both performed in an excellent manner.

If you can, make sure you alternate drivers. DW drove as much and as well as I.

End of day 5 and we are now in Hershey, PA. We will be here for two days then off again for approx a 250 mile day. We traveled in quite abit of rain and part of that was cutting across the mountains from WV over to Maryland. The Ecoboost handle extremely well and tons of power to get up the grades. I avg about 10 mpg through the hills and mountains. Will it- I am quite aware of the weather in Ok. I lived in tornado alley up that way for 10 years. I-40 is a tough interstate without the tornados. It gets a lot of cross winds through OK and NM. Off to relax.

End of day 6. We left Hershey, PA this morning and have stopped in Dambury for the night. We are overnighting here since the evening temps will be low enough so we don't need any AC. However our 10 yr old daughter is going to be bored without standard electricity. She will have to settle for a board game or two.

We spent the entire day yesterday at Hershey Chocolate World. We spent about five hrs there. It is a very fun place and I recommend it if you have never been there before. We did not go to Hershey Park since we have a Six Flags down in San Antonio.

Tomorrow we we reach our destination area (NH) for the next 50 days or so before we start our return trip.

The Ecoboost has handled extremely well and I am impressed with the power and torque of this V-6 engine on this trip.

Good evening all
