I wish we had something like this in WI. No car safety inspections either. I see far too many potential road disasters.

Not required in Minnesota. But as DocBrown said, it would be nice as there are a lot of scare "things" on the road.

In Pennsylvania, all vehicles except trailers without brakes are required to be inspected annually.

I get one in VIRGINIA from a regular STATE INSPECTION location. They check the lights and look at the BRAKE PADS on one wheel. My yearly INSPECTION STICKER is placed on the DRIVERs SIDE of the Trailer Tongue area.
One visit they did the PULL the Trailer Emergency Disconnect PIN and made sure the electric brake locked up the wheel they had jacked up inspeting the BRAKE PAD.
I have always towed my trailer to the inspection station but have noticed some will drop their trailer off and come back later to pick it up.
Have no idea how things get inspected without the tow vehicle present????
One of our local RV DEALERS is also a INSPECTION STATION for RV's...

Mine's been out for a while. I had the trailer in to the dealer for repairs late last year and asked them to give me a new one, but I guess they forgot. I was VERY surprised when I found an inspection sticker on my trailer in the first place...
Will be interested to hear what other Texans have to say about this.

When I bought our first used trailer, I noticed there was an old inspection sticker on it but it was expired. So I asked the salesman if they would take care of that during PDI. He told me they were no longer required in Texas. Being a relative newbie, I took him at his word (dumb).
Since then, I've recently learned he's a lying mother so our present trailer got inspected earlier this month and new trailer will be at first opportunity.
Imagine that... an RV salesman lying!

No in Kentucky. Would be good if handled fairly but all too often they are not much more than a way to collect an inspection fee.

The "inspection" can be a real joke at some places. A friend of ours took his in last year, the guy walks a circle around it and says - looks like an RV to me and slaps a sticker on it. He checked absolutely nothing, but he made the money for him and the state. I don't disagree with them being required, but at least check things.

None here in the Evergreen State.
Funny though. This state usually will do that sort of thing just for tax $$$.

None in the State of Georgia or Florida either as far as I know. I have owned registered trailers in both states.

NYS requires it yearly, but not many do it. I do it for the measly $6.00 and to CMA.

SC did away with vehicle inspections many years ago due to fraud and consumer ripoffs.

Any tandem axle in Texas needs the inspection, unless you have farm plates. the only TT i have seen in Texas with farm plates, was built to haul horses, and the front section was sleeping quarters .

When I lived in TX back in '67-'72, vehicle inspections were a racket. Even brand new vehicles would have something fail, usually wipers, brakes, etc. depending what the shop wanted to sell. I learned to go to a shop that was failing wipers, then go to another one that failing something else. I would then show the slip from the first shop to the second shop; they would change their mind and pass everything. I would then take the slip from the second shop back to the first shop and get a refund. They were very cooperative when I threatened to file a complaint against them.

With the new one sticker thing they just started in Texas, you don't get a sticker, but you have to have a current inspection in order to register it.

Hmm.. I'm new to TT in Texas, and mine doesn't have one (got used a few months ago) and I have new tags...do I really need inspection too? getting my 27' TT in a inspection area is not going to be simple have to find one with easy parking. uughghhha. THat and the tail light fixtures are really cheap and the bulbs won't work and then you touch the bulb and it works...looks clean contacts and all, but not confidence inspiring...
