TT Tire Pressure

Hi all,

anyone knows what tire pressure is usually recommended on a Jay flight 27BH TT? I assume this would be common for most 27 footers regardless of model.

Well part of that depends on the tires you go on there and Max limits of weight and pressure...

Like as for my TT I got 1 tire load range C and the other 3 are load range D's... The C is limited to 50 PSI and the D's are limited to 65 PSI...

So looking at the profile I got 60 PSI in all the D's and the C is maxed out at 50 PSI...

This is one of my first big project ot do once the snow leaves is to put on a fresh set of Load Range E's and not worry about them... But I would still aim for about 60-65 PSI...

My Dry weight is roughly 6600# GVWR is 8500#... Even my Pickup weighing in at 7300# I got 60-65 PSI in them...

But any rate pay attention to the load range of the tire, the max weight and pressure capablities... don't over do it...

They are probably the ST load range C tires that came with it or similar, 50lbs. cold. You can look on the sidewall to be sure though.... -Lee

Typically, C rated ST tires take 50psi, and D rated take 65psi. I know for sure that the D rated Goodyears on my TT take 65psi, and the C rated Goodyears on my boat take 50psi. Different sized tires within the same weight rating may vary though.

My 2003 27BH had a sticker on the side that said max tire pressure was 45psi.

Always go by what the tires max pressure is on the sidewall. Load range d tires are 65 psi. Max pressure is where the max load rating is. If you are underinflated, it will cause excessive heat and a blowout.

Just go by what the max pressure is on the sidewall and you will be fine.

Keep in mind it, if they are not the tires that came on the rims from the factory it is possible the max psi on the tires may be more than the rims are rated for.

As soon as I can get out of this valley I got a deal at Big O tires for a set of 225/75 R15 Load Range E tires ~$390 for a set of 4.

Not sure what the name brand is but I'm not worried... So far every tire I've bought from them has been a good quality tire...

I wasn't aware that you could get load range E in 15in. I will check the Big O website and see what all they have.

You might have to call a dealer and ask them. I'll give away this clue that the dealer in Ontario, OR the managers name is "Mike" and I already got a call to him for the price and the sale is on till they run out of stock.

Not really a suggestion, but don't the Jaycos come with Goodyear Marathons? Maybe just certain models. They brag them up at the dealers as USA made, but I just called Goodyear CS and she had to have the DOT number on the tire. Don't know what to make of that. Tires have been so good for so many years, now with China making them we're seeing problems all over the place.
