TV antenna questions

I installed a carport and parked my camper under it. Now with antenna up I get very few channels. I have an extra antenna if I mount it outside on top of my carport and run cable to camper port will that work? will I need another amp or will it use built in one? do I need to disconnect anything? It has a port on outside that says satellite/cable in.

First off, it depends how far you are from broadcast towers. If you don't need amp in house you wouldn't need one at camper. If you don't need amp, then just run it in the cable inlet and turn the amp off at the tv and scan and you should be good to go.
