TV with Solar?

Trying to get a little more clarification regarding an old question I asked in the Solar group.

If I have solar panels installed and charging the battery, is it safe for me to also have the +12V coming in from the TV connection while towing?

Thanks

DT

Yes no issues there. Many of us tow our trailers hooked up with active solar panels as well.

I am pretty sure all modern vehicles will be protected by fuses and diodes between the battery and the trailer plug.

As Subaru297 mentioned it is safe to leave the SOLAR connected to the battery while the TT is connected to the TV. We run our TT fridge on 120VAC while traveling, and between the SOLAR and TV the batteries are always fully charged when we get to the CG. Never had any issues over the last 5+ years of doing it this way.

I never disconnect my solar when hooked to shore power or when towing and have never had a problem.

Thanks all

good to know. The thing I was primarily worried about was cooking the batteries.
