Upgraded the Jayco Today (With Pics)
So after 3 years of camping in our Jayco 19BH we finally decided to upgrade so long trips 7-10 days would be more comfortable. The new rig is a Jayco 28BHS with a Maxistor compartment.
Here is the old camper.
Here is the new rig!!
We are super pumped abut this camper!! It has so much more rrom inside and my wife and I are happy to have our own room up front and let the kids have the back bunk area
We almost backed out on the deal when we went to pick it up. I was doing the the inspection before the sale and caught two things I wanted addressed well they hooked up to the camper and pulled it down to the service area and as it went by both my wife and I started to have second thoughts about the length...... My wife was like o my gosh it looked like a train just passed us!!! we were both flipping out and second guessing ourselves with how long it was!
I started talking to the owners of the camper store about my concerns getting it up the driveway and turned around and whet he said was awesome!! He told me well we want you to be happy more than anything else so take it home with you and if the camper won't go up your drive bring it back tomorrow. He then gave me his cell phone number and said get out of here and call me if you run into trouble. Lucky for us it went right up the drive and we will go sign the paperwork tomorrow! That is what I call service!! I have now bought two campers from this company and would recommend them to anyone!!
I was also extremely happy with how our truck pulled the camper and I can't even tell the difference between the 19BH and the 28BHS.
I will post pics of the interior and maxistor compartment this weekend. Ohh I also have a quick question??? I have never hung a tv in a TT before so does anyone have some advice or recommendations on how to do it /what mounting hardware to use. We were thinking of a 28-30" tv in the front bedroom?

Congratulations on the new camper. We just upgraded (forced to with surprise family growth) from a hybrid to a 26BH and I thought they towed very comparably - until I loaded up... you shouldn't have any issues there with your rig. As to the TV, I mounted mine today in the bedroom and I put a 23" and that is about all that would fit with a "simple" mount. I didn't want the long arm to allow for the extension to be able to walk into it in the dark as I have 2 crib babies, I used this mount ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1) but changed the thumb screw to a tighter nut and bolt to prevent any wobble so I could travel with the tv mounted. There are other good options for mounting from monoprice.com and ebay - if I were to have looked more, I probably would have went with this - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tilt-Swivel-...-/130847199342 or possibly added the quick removal item like http://www.ebay.com/itm/Single-TV-Mo...-/370806710101.
Happy camping!

I also have a 2010 19bh that I was considering upgrading. The 28bhs is a top contender. Would you mind sharing what kind of deal you got? Beautiful rig, btw!

Upgraded the Jayco Today (With Pics)
Our previous camper was a 2011 28BHS. Great camper! We had a TV in the front bedroom and I mounted it to the wall at the end of the bed using a Sanus low profile mount. It was a 40" Samsung thin LED along with a soundbar which made for a somewhat theater-like experience Use a stud finder! The wall is fairly narrow so you'll need to use 1" lag bolts or even 3/4". You can also mount a smaller TV on an articulating mount on the wall up and to the right while laying on the bed. That's where Jayco wants you to put it.

Very nice rig, congrats! Sounds like your dealer is a keeper with excellent customer service and really cares about their customers and not just moving units out the door. Very cool.

So far we are loving the 28BHS layout. We really like the fact that if we take another couple they can have the double in the back and one of the kiddos can sleep on the couch.
My 19BH was a 2010 and I bought it from the same dealer I got my 28BHS from. I had taken it in at least once a year and had them go through it thoroughly so they had all the service records on it. They gave me $9500 for my 19BH (which floored me)! and I bought the 2013 28BHS for $18,500. Hopefully I didn't overpay to much on the 28BHS. We called a few other places and they quoted us $19,000 to $22,000.

Nice upgrade! Your tow rig will be more than capable for that trailer, you likely don't even know it's there lol!

So I was out checking the wall for the tv mount tonight and it appears they put plywood all the way across at the end of the bed. I was planning on mounting a 32" TV in the center of the wall. It makes me nervous even thinking about this lol. Do you take your tv off the wall when traveling?

Wow! You got one hell of a deal! I may just call my dealer and make them this offer, see if they go for it. Thanks for sharing. He offered me $8500 for mine site unseen. I am sure I could squeeze a little more. Love those Jaycos! Talk about holding your value.

Yes, we took the TV off the wall and put it on the bed. You'd be surprised though with lag bolts a low profile holds in there pretty good. Obviously, the lighter the TV, the better. Our 40" Samsung LED was pretty light compared to a lot of LCD sets.

I was literally floored when the offered me $9500 for it!!! The weird thing I don't understand is they have it listed for $9500 on their website right now which lead me to believe you could have bought the camper outright for a bit less money?? The price on the camper seemed ok though at $18500 compared to the numbers I got from two other places. Oh well I am happy with it so I am not going to worry about it to much I'm just going to go enjoy it! I was really happy it has the comfort package in already. It came with dark tinted windows, roof ladder, grill, maxistor door, and a bunch of other odds and ends that most of the ones we called about didn't have.

It has been raining like crazy off and on so I took some time to hang the TV at the end of the queen bed.
I hated where the put the supports to hang the tv and wanted to put it right in the middle of the queen bed. I tried to locate a vertical stud but couldn't find one where I wanted it. I ended up getting the bottom bolt of the tv mount in a horizontal stud and then drilled a 1/4" hole through the wall and made a support brake in the kitchen cabinet. I then bolted through the top hole of the tv bracket through the wall. All in all it works great and I no have my tv centered where I want it! I also loaded up a blu ray player and hooked it up so my wife and I can watch movies in bed
Support Bracket. I am going to stain it tomorrow.
