Upgraded Thermostat

Hi All,

I like to share cool things I find and have done with my trailer. I could not stand the factory thermostat and wanted a digital read out so I am not guessing what it is set to. So I found this gem and I highly recommend it. Super easy to install too.

Yes, for my unit i can only control the heat. My AC is controlled by the manual knobs on the ceiling.

I looked at that one and actually bought it. But then could not figure out how to wire it as no instructions for 12 volt. Called them and they said would not work for 12 volts so sent it back.

Can you tell me which two terminals you used to get it to work? Also, which wire to which terminal. I have a tester so I can tell which is hot and which is ground. Mine is mounted on a wood wall so it will not ground it.

You could have gone onto Honeywell's web site and downloaded the manuals

So I downloaded the manual as suggested. Still in the dark as I have no idea which is hot from the furnace and ground are to connect to.

I can test the two wires to see which is incoming power and second one is ground, touch them together and it starts. But simply have no idea which terminal to connect to based on the manual or included instructions.

That T-stat is simply a switch That causes the furnace to come on and go off depending on the set point. The T-stat is powered by the two batteries that are in the T-stat When you touched the two wires together all you did was complete the circuit that tell the furnace to fire up

The T-stat is a 2 wire stat

Sure, when I get back to the trailer i will take a picture of the back of it so you can see how I have it connected.
