Upgrading from a popup this week

Hello Everyone and Merry Christmas!

The DW and I are heading to our local Jayco dealer to order a 2017 Jay Flight 21QB, we are upgrading from a 2014 Jay Series 1007UD and cannot wait to enjoy a solid body camping experience. The popup did get us off the ground, but we've grown tired of canvas bunks, looking forward to not having to be concerned with packing up wet following a rain event prior to breaking camp. The ammenties are going to be huge was compared to what we are accustom to, we simply cannot wait to get out on the road in 2017.

We moved up just last summer and found that we enjoyed:
Lunch at any rest stop in the RV.
Half or less set up time.
More storage without digging for what we needed.
Change of clothes and a clean place to do it while traveling.
Leaving the bedding in place instead of putting away.
Wal mart style travel camping.
No bear worries in National parks.
Ease of prep and cleanup at home.
Not having to climb over each other to get out of bed.

But we still loved the sound of rain and wind on the canvas.

Enjoy!

( we don't enjoy the greater wind resistance and fuel usage)

Merry Christmas, which dealer are you talking with? We are in the nw burbs and ended up down in Joliet at Ricks RV. We worked with Paul and he worked up a package for us that beat several Indiana dealers and the wauconda camping world. And their service department has been tremendous. Our Starcraft has only had a couple of minor warranty issues, but they added a slide topper and a toilet riser for us also and the work has been great. Highly recommend you talk with them before signing anywhere else. Have fun and hopefully we'll see you around.

Good Morning Everyone and thanks for your support and encouragement, we head to the dealer tomorrow morning to hammer out a deal on this Jay Flight. Yes, we are planning to purchase at Ricks RV, this is where we purchased our popup and we have a good relationship with a salesperson there. I'll update how it goes tomorrow, fingers are crossed that we can get this done.

Well my friends, Mission Accomplished! The DW and I made our way into the Jayco dealer yesterday and inked a deal on a new 2017 Jay Flight 21QB, it is ordered and should arrive in April. The salesperson we work with his a gentleman, we've created a great rapport with him when we purchased our popup, he was a pleasure to work with on this purchase and trade-in. Needless to say, we are very excited about this upgrade, now we'll be learning from all of you on how to make smart modifications to our TT and how to support it with necessities.

That is exciting. We hope to see pics and hear of your travels and experiences together with your Jayco TT. Did you order it with the "elite package"? Which interior did you choose?

Congratulations on your upgrade. It is good you have an RV dealership whom you trust and work well with.
Just a recommendation of free advice (which is worth what you pay for it, lol). Stay in close contact with your salesperson regarding the order of your trailer. Get all the information needed to track your order (who ordered from? Jayco directly, distribution outlet, another dealer? get the order numbers. If it is a build order through Jayco, etc.). Get involved in the process, especially if it is a build order. There have been several issues with dealerships telling new buyers a delivery date of the RV (based on what the dealership was told), only to find out down the road that a distribution center got behind or Jayco failed to notify the dealerships of upcoming delays in build times etc.
Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

I picked up my factory ordered 23 RLSW last April. Took about 15 weeks.

I talked to the sales manager a couple of weeks ago while picking up my TT for some warranty work.

He told me Jayco is so far behind that if I ordered a trailer it would be early summer before it was delivered. And they are the largest Jayco dealer in the country.

So like NVGun40 says, take what they told you with a grain of salt, and stay in the loop.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate your comments. Featherfam, our 21QB was ordered with the CVP, the 15,000 BTU A/C upgrade, Elite Pkg, Thermal Pkg, aluminum wheels, rear ladder and the interior color is Canyon which is the darker of the cloth interior colors. We also purchased an Equilizer WDH through this deal.

The salesperson told us that he believes delivery will not be until April sometime, our first trip is Memorial Day weekend, he was up front that Jayco has a backlog of orders to be built. I will take the advice to stay in contact with him regarding a build date and whatever he can give me so I can track our trailer through the build.

Good Evening Everyone, I received a telephone call from our salesperson, he called to say that our TT has been placed in the "February run" meaning it will be build sometime during February. When we closed the deal, he mentioned that it would likely be an April delivery, now he quotes a February build. Very excited to say the least.

We moved to a 21QB after our pup was totaled in an accident. We do miss some aspects of canvas but overall we love the 21QB. And we agree 100% with the earlier poster about the convenience.
