Vacuum Bonded Walls

I was reading another thread mentioning not be able to mount a thermostat due to the vacuum bonded walls. Isn't it just the outside walls that are vacuum bonded? As long as the screws are not going into the outside walls I would think you can mount stuff on the walls. Am I incorrect? What do you do when mounting stuff on the interior of your TT? I know 3M strips and hooks are preferred, but sometimes you need screws; for example I added shelves in the wardrobe closet of my last trailer. I used short screws and anchors. Did make a mistake?

I believe the issue with mounting the thermostat in the other thread it was an "after-the-fact" request and it would be difficult, if not impossible, to fish any wiring through the existing vacuum bonded walls.

As far as mounting "stuff" to the vacuum bonded walls, Jayco does it all the time but they use the wall framing (studs) as anchor points. Jayco can provide the wall frame schematic if requested.

I wouldn't say you made a mistake, just realize you can't put anything very heavy on there.

It was only added for clothes, but there are supports on the front of the shelves as well as the back wall and there pretty sturdy. Can't imagine there going anywhere. Just had no use for a double wardrobe closet so added shelves in 1 half of it.

Actually the request was made 1 day after ordering. I am over it now, I think I prefer that unit over the ducted with wall t-stat now. Maybe I can add a heat strip to it???
