I've seen DIY laminate flooring in some trailers. It looks good. I don't know what brands they used. Be aware that it will generally add quite a bit more weight than a vinyl floor will.

We installed Alloc laminate in our kitchen many years ago. I didn't realize until way too late that in moving the refrigerator the ice maker supply line developed a small drip. I noticed the Alloc was cupping in the area of the fridge. Further investigation showed the paint behind the fridge bubbled from the wallboard being soaked. A real mess.

I had extra flooring, but I needed to pull apart from the opposite wall to get to the bad area. I'm extremely good at procrastination. This time it paid. Within a week I noticed that the laminate was less cupped. Within a month the flooring was almost normal. Now the "bad" area isn't even apparent with close inspection.

I bore you with my story because I believe it shows that the Alloc stands up to moisture. That said, I have no experience with it in a travel trailer.
Original Laminate Flooring

Good luck. vic

Smile I replaced my cracked Vinyl with laminate

When my flooring cracked last year due to cold weather (an earlier post in this thread), I replaced it with a thin interlocking laminate. The visible section of the floor on a trailer isn't very big, so it was much easier than I anticipated. I bought 5 boxes of flooring from CostCo for roughly $125 and some quarter inch molding at home depot and spent a Saturday afternoon installing. There are a lot of "length wise" cuts of the flooring required, a table saw was a big help.

I am extremely happy with the results, it actually looks much better than the original flooring. It's also easier to keep clean, we just use a "swiffer" and it shines right up. As for weight, the laminate is thin enough I'd be surprised if we added more than a hundred pounds of weight compared to the vinyl.

You might try covering it with closed cell soft flooring, like Tunce the Traveler did.
