Want to build shelf in ward of 2013 314BDS

Good afternoon! We have a 2013 314BDS and were wanting to build a shelf in the ward closet across from the bathroom in our trailer. The shelf would be about 24" deep and 22 3/8" wide. My question: How would I fasten the rail system or the shelf brackets to the side walls? It appears that it is just a cheap liner of some sort in the sides. I don't even know if there are any studs in the sides or if it just has studs at the corner. Has anyone done this and if yes, what did you use and how did you attach them? Thanks for your assistance!

We found some coated wire shelving that was a pretty close fit. That avoided the issue of fastening to the side walls.

On our 2nd TT the previous owner used moulding to make the supporting side rails. He simply glued the moulding to the sides of the ward and drove a couple of nails in at the ends of the moulding where it met the ward. We never had a problem with those shelves loosening up, but we also only kept that TT for 3 years.

I to have a 2013 314BDS, Thought about the same thing. In my old trailer I had I used molding. Used qaurter round, thought about liquid nail to hold it in place, but didnt. I cut the molding to fit. I did this around the two sides and back cutting the corners with chop saw at angle. The really hard part was holding it level then getting it to stay. So my solution one piece at a time and I bought the strongest 3M double sided tape I could find. My camper was a 2007 did that in 2008,traded it in late 2012. And that shelf was solid as if I had just put in.

I did clean the wall in the closest. Just a quick wipe with rubbing alcohol.

I have the same trailer, but have not brought it home yet. We take delivery on it in 4 days!!!!
I think I may take a closer look at this mod as well!

Sometimes it is the little things in life that make you happy. I was at the Container Store the other day and found shelves that fit like a glove. Each shelf is 12 inches tall and are stackable. It will work great for towels and general storage.

On our old Prowler trailer I used metal shelving strips and secured them with short screws. With the bottom of the strips on the bottom of the closet they were very secure. The thing I like about the shelving strips is the adjustability.
