Washing exterior of aluminum sided TT

Plan on doing a wash and wax of the recently purchased new 32TSBH next weekend. It has aluminum siding. I already intend on waxing with Protect ALL. Have heard a lot of good reviews on it. How ever I really haven/t seen much on what to use to wash TT. No, real black streaks as of yet, a few light ones at best. Whats a good product for the wash before I wax?

Any quality car wash is fine for the weekly wash. If you need to attack specific areas of stains or black streaks then a specialized black streak remover, Purple Power or Awesome all have good reviews. Black streak remover can be purchased anywhere RV supplies are sold. Purple Power I get at Walmart. Awesome, I am told, is sold in dollar stores but I have not found it yet.

When you rinse off the trailer, don't use too strong or narrow a stream of water and try to hit the trailer as much as possible with the stream of water aimed down. A few years ago, I rinsed my aluminum sided trailer with a nozzle and had the water stream aimed upward; I got some water behind the aluminum siding.

When possible, I like to keep my feet on the ground. You could rinse with a broad fine spray of water and be OK, I think. Just be careful around the joints in the aluminum siding.

I use a extended watering nozzle come out in a shower. For a couple of black streaks you can use WD40. When you wax graphics use a spray type wax the liquid or paste may leave a white residue. It is a job but when you stand back the trailer really looks good.

A good car wash/wax is all I use. I'll follow up with also a coat of car wax (hand applied..ugg) when needed. I still havent found anything to remove the mold stains from white window rubber successfully without damaging it.

Like the others have said, any good car wash will be fine for the trailer. I use a nozzle on the hose that has multiple settings. I put it on shower and aim up over the trailer. Have fun.

Awesome is available at my local Walmart.

Word of warning, straight Awesome will remove wax. It works great on stubborn black streaks, but rinse well and apply wax after use.

I read on another camping forum that a petroleum based wax is hard on vinyl decals and causes premature cracking. I waxed my old trailer, but used Aerospace 303 protectant on the vinyl and plastic parts. The 303 has UV inhibitors and no petroleum solvents. Just my humble opinion.

I was with automotive car wash and wax with meguars wax. I have always waxed over my graphics and they still look great 14 years later. Caveat, I store indoors year round, your results may vary.

I definately suggest using an extendable wand. I have the one from wally world that a hose attaches to and it makes quick work of it top to bottom. I have found that the easier I make a task the more likely I am to do it.
