Water from Shower!

So far after every shower I have water on the floor of my 2012 314 BDS.
I caulked around the top of the tub surround (left the bottom as is) and still have water. Pretty sure it's just coming out from the front of the shower due to hte curtain not staying up against the wall. Have any of you had this issue? Has anyone installed an inside liner, did it help?

My old camper had a similar issue where we had to be sure that the curtain was well within the tub. If I had a tub / shower combo again, I would likely replace the curtain with a door such as this one.

Bed Bath & Beyond has stick on shower curtain clips that will help keep the curtain against the wall. Ours are working pretty well at containing the "splash". Recall another poster looking into them and when internet ordering found the shipping was more than the cost of the clips. Store purchased mine.

Yep, we had this same issue. The dealer made a little dam out of caulk right at the edge - especially up under the wall. That took care of most of it, we now also usually keep a wash cloth there to catch what the dam doesn't prevent.

Just to make clear, he didn't seal the whole wall at the bottom, just right at the edge of the tub where they could see it running down.

We have these on the corner of our tub, they help contain most of the water....not 100% perfect but we no longer have soaking bath mat when showering.

We also use the splash guards at either end & also wad a washcloth in each corner. Works like a charm for very little money.

In my last TT I got a regular clear size shower curtain liner and started after the first hole leaving 6-8 inch piece against the back wall. I did the same at the front and the moisture on the wall was enough to stick it to the wall to keep the water in.

I also installed the corner guards but got them in ACE. They had slots to thread the curtain through if you wanted to.

The oversized curtain liner solved 99% of the issue.

That was me. I ended up putting a tall splash guard on the side of the tub/shower base on the side by the toilet. I installed a set of short shower guard on the side of the tub by the faucet. The second small splash guard I installed on the edge of the vanity top. I moved the one set of shower curtain clips that I have so that I have one one each side. I also use the Jayco factory shower curtain as a liner and have a "moose" shower curtain on the outside of the tub/shower pan. Usually dry.

funny this thread is here because just this past weekend I had the same issue. at first I thought it was coming from behind spout and then I followed further and saw the water was just traveling on the edge. I just grabbed my caulk gun and made a dam, works great so far but I do like those corner splash guards.

I went to a home improvement store and bought a strip of exterior vinyle . It is 1"' wide and 1/4" thick. I used exterior liquid nails to glue it on the top edge of the tub. I cut it long enough to be able to slide it under the tub surround.
BTW the tub surround shold not be sealed up to ensure moisture can evaporate.

I took my Uncle's advice to correct the same problem. ... Bought a 4' length of 1" quarter round pvc, cut it to fit snug from front of shower to back of shower, got some GE waterproof/sun/freeze proof/air-tight clear silicone glue and attached it to the top/outer-side of the tub. (With the rounded part facing the toilet and door obviously) ... haven't had a drop since. And it takes up a whole lot less space than those pre-fashioned/self adhesive corner splash guards. I don't know about your TT, but I can't lose any free space in my bathroom. It cost me $6 for the glue and the pvc quarter round (which actually matches the color of the tub and looks like it came out of the factory that way). Hope that helps. Good luck.

Thank you all for the great replies! As always very helpful. I will be trying the splash gaurds for the next trip. One other question. If you do intall a liner inside the curtian what do you install it to? I suppose you would have to buy a seperate rod that has a bend in it similar the the factory one? My curtain is not one that you could install another behind it. I also did not seal the entire tub surround, only along the top. The bottom is still open to allow any water to escape.
Again, thank you all

It's been a while since I did that mod but I did not use another rod that much I remember. I'm pretty sure that I either was able to open the hooks holding the curtain up on the track or added some type of hooks to the eyes coming off the track to add the curtain. The original fabric was over the front of the clear plastic when drawn.

Zip ties? Maybe you can just buy the replacement rollers for the track. They make some that open. Try PPLMH site.

I prefer a flat piece so you can slide it under the tub surround. You could use a flat piece and slide it under the tub surround and then a qurter round on top of it.

I have had that similar problem. To solve it, I always make sure that the nose of my trailer is just a bit higher than the back, just enough so that water does not run on to the floor in the bathroom. I realize this means I am not perfectly level, but I have not been able to notice a difference. Maybe this will help

Both are really good ideas. And if unlevel, I always prefer a degree or two heading towards the tub drain ... that said, i also prefer a perfectly leveled TT. I guess the rest is up to you and your preferences. If it is a rental, I wouldn't make any engineering flaw corrections (unless Jayco is going to pay you back and market the idea) ... if nothing else works, use a really absorbent floor matt and dry it on a clothesline after everyone has showered. That is what we did in our last TT until the whole thing was soaked with water and full of ants. I prefer a preemptive approach. NEVER LET WATER INSIDE THE TRAILER!

I picked it up at Williams Lumber in Rhinebeck, NY. But I'm sure it's even cheaper and more readily available at Home Depot or Lowes. The silicone glue is probably there too. I should have shopped around but I was minutes away from the kids' naptimes and thought (as i usually do) why not support the local mom and pop shop.

I'm telling you ... it works.
Not a drop since
it's been glued down.
I hope it works as well for the rest of you.
