Water Heater

Looks like the wire (horizontal) is a safety jumper and it looks like it worked. You can order one from Amazon. You can also order a electronic thermostat that allows you to raise and/or lower you water temp.

I am assuming you had the flame flash back into the control area of the WH. First thing to do is clear the spider web out the burner tube. I used a flexible brush for a hummingbird feeder and pulled out a huge spider web that had blocked the burner tube. If you have high pressure air available, you may be able to blow it out without having to stick something in there to clear it. If it is a mud dauber, you'll have to chip it out first then try to clean as well as possible. FYI, the burner tube is the one that has the little slotted air vents over the end nearest the gas control valve. Once you have the buurner tube cleaned, take the clear plastic tube and unplug both ends from the WH and brown wire. If you have an Ohmmeter, check the continuity of the thermal fuse within the plastic tube. If it is open, connnnect the brown wire to the tab on the front of the WH where the fuse was plugged in.

Assuming you have gas and the gas line has been purged, have someone turn the WH on from the panel switch on the wall inside the camper while you watch the igniter spark to light the gas in the WH.Cautiiion, don't stick your face too close or you may end up singed.
The only part needed sshould be the thermal fuse. $13+/- at the parts places or Walmart online.

Good Luck! Swampy

Flame roll out, which caused the safety link to do its job. Replace the link, then light the unit and determine if it has an issue lighting, or it may have been a one off rare event. Basically a delayed ingnition is the reason this safety came into play.
