Water Hose - how to store?

How do you store your water hose - what I have been doing (this summer) is after packing up and rolling the hose, I connect both ends together thus keeping things from getting in the hose and keeping any excess water from dripping onto the floor of the trailer. The last trip I was on, my temporary camping neighbor said that by doing that, I will have mildew or mold in the hose when I go to hook up next time. What is the right way....????

thanks

I roll it up and rotate the rolled hose 5-6-7 times which will pour out most of the remaining water, then leave the ends separate so any remaining water/moisture will evaporate rather than turn into mildew. What little may remain in the hose will not hurt the floor of your storage, if any comes out at all.

I roll the water out and leave the ends separate, too. But, I bought a plastic container (don't use the lid) to put the hose into so any residual water that drips out stays contained. I used appropriately sized plastic containers for most of the gear I keep in my storage area.

I blow into it to push the excess water out, I have been connecting both ends together but I guess from now on I'll leave them separated.

Drain the hose (walk the hose), coil it, tie it up with a rope (for easy handling) and store it with the ends open to allow water to evaporate.

I drain the hose roll it up and put the ends together so the bugs and critters cant get in and put it in a plastic tote. I have never had a problem so far so I think I will keep doing it that way.

I do the same. Some of the new drinking water hose have a bacteria resistant lining. I also bleach my hose a few times a year.

I connect both ends when packing up to leave, but when I get home I hang the hose along my fence to dry out for a day, then put it away with both ends connected until the next trip.

I also drain the hose, roll it up and put the ends together so bugs can't claim it as a condo. But not tightened, still loose. I've been doing it this way for 5 years and have never had any issues. I do use the RV water system for drinking, coffee and cooking. Never any problems there either.

I will add that all the water that has passed though the hose has been through a filter.
