WD bars AND air bags
If you have both air bags AND a WD hitch, do you air up the bags first or cinch up the WD bars first ?

I have read where some experts say to hook up the WD bars first and then air up the bags. However, I have found for me that I air up my bags to 20 PSI and then hook up my WD bars. I have the Blue Ox Sway Pro and Firestone air bags and this works well for me

It seems if you did the bars first, when you aired up the bags, it would loosen the bars. I think your way Mmwhit makes sense.

Tow our WhiteHawk with a Ram 3500 SRW, yeah serious overkill, but needed it when we had our fifth wheel and it's paid for. I inflate the air springs to 30 psi hook up the trailer and Straitline hitch and go camping. Hitch works as it should, no jack hammering bounce from the rear suspension, it's all good.

I air my bags up first, then hook up.. The way I see it is why fill up the air bags with the extra weight of the trailer fighting against you.

I fill the bags first then put the bars on. I run the bags at about 50-55 psi. Seems to be the perfect amount with my setup.

I have the same hitch and bags and this is how I do it. It works great for me. I use only about 10 psi.

I tried to do bag's first then hitch set up but depending on camp site the truck sits to high with bags inflated and I cant get trailer high enough,So now I hook up trailer,load everything up then adjust air bags for ride height.I usually only need 20 to 25 psi.Rides like a dream,no more teeth shattering hard jolts from bumps in the road

Ditto for me, usually about 25 or 30 pounds, though, and I throw a couple of extra blocks under the tongue jack if the hitch looks like it is sloped due to the campsite

Fill bags to 20 psi then hook up bars. After everything hooked up check the level and always right on.
