WD Hitch advice???
Looking for some help/advice from you experienced camper towers out there. Picking up a new to me 2008 Jayco 22fb on Monday. Will be pulling home less than ten miles without a wd hitch. Definately want to add one and was hoping for some advice as to what system/size will work best for my TT/TV combo. Have only pulled a pop up and four wheeler tailer to this point so a little antsy about pulling the new camper....
TT is 4,080 lbs dry (GW of 6,000lbs), Tounge weight is listed at 475lbs, remaining set-up is in my signature below.

Hi, I am not totally an experienced camper yet but want to let ya know about the Equalizer WD.We just got an Eagle 284BHS and I went with the Equalizer WD 1200. It does a great job with sway and WD. Pulled it home from the dealer and no issues for that 120 mile trip.I ordered it thru the internet and make sure if you go with it to get the ball made by equalizer too, since it need to have a short shank. I found it to be easy to attach and remove.

I tow with a Reese DC and it does a great job preventing sway. The cams always want to keep the TT right behind the TV. If they encounter any sway, then there is an opposing force preventing sway. There is an informative video about the hitch on the etrailer web site.

I believe my fellow forum moderator Quahog has the 22 FB and uses a Reese Dual cam with that unit and reported good results. You may try sending him a PM for specifics about the hitch and any other questions, I know he would be glad to help.

I use the Equalizer 4 point sway like dan222. The Reese is a good unit, I've used it. The Equalizer is easier to hook up. No chains to count, no bar needed to secure the chain to the chain pivot. I can remember my Dad using a Reese on a 1964 Internatinal Travelall, and a 1960 Holiday Rambler trailer. So, it has been around a long time.
Good luck. I've been pulling RV for over 35 years. After a couple of trips, you will get use to everything, and you will go into "tow trailer mode" rather than "empty truck mode." You will understand after a couple of times around the block.

I use the Equal-I-Zer with my 23D. Our trailers as far as weight seem to be identical. We also appear to have closely matched tow vehicles. I purchased my at PPL Motor Homes and installed it myself. I feel I made the right decision as I Do not have any towing issues as far as handling. I do not have any experience with any other systems though.

I was just about to chime in and say, since moving from a Husky WDH to the Reese DC, I can tell you it now pulls like a dream. No sway at all and it's so nice not having to remove the sway bar to back up!

Thanks so much for all the advice. I am going to go on to etrailer today and view some of the different types and set ups. What should I expect to pay for the Reese DC and or the EQ system??

personally i would go with the 800lb. bigger with wd hitch is better imo.

I'd go with the 800 Reese DC. I'm very happy with mine.
