We did it, gave into 3 footitis.

After having our 2011 Jay Flight 26RLS for almost 3 yrs and having warranty and other issues. Losing 10 months of camping time over the ownership due to repair time we decided it was time to get rid of it. Also our DD had outgrown the J steel sofa so it was breaking down the dinette each night, that alone was getting old. That was one of the reasons we sold the PUP and bought the TT.

We traded in on a 2014 Jayco Eagle 298RLDS. We really liked the smooth siding, electric awning and being able to angle it, LED lights on awning, black tank flush, bike/cargo rack, dual a/c units and remote control to run all the slides, stabilizer jacks, awning and lights. We also liked the angled TV entertainment center which opened up the living area with the 2 recliners, tri fold sofa bed, a pantry (did not have one in the 26RLS), linen closet(didn't have one these also) and slide out wardrobe closet. The new mattress is a memory foam one, it is still a little hard but much more comfortable than the older style.

We took our maiden voyage to Payson (to get out of the Phoenix heat) last weekend to try it out. We wanted hookups to try everything. We met up with a JOF member Parcany and his wife, wonderful people and they gave us some really good ideas on mods, improvements and help with our unit. Thanks again Ernie.

The only real issue we had was our fridge when set on the auto setting worked fine on a/c but would not automatically work on gas when disconnected. It would work fine if you put the button over to gas. It is the 8 cubic fridge. We had one of the strips of LED lights not turn on. We are going to check to see if they just need to be connected.

Overall it was a great weekend to try it out and we loved the additional room and storage along with meeting up with a JOF member.

Here are some photos of the Eagle when we were doing the PDI and the last one at our weekend site.

Had to update our signature line.

We just brought home a Jayco Eagle 308 RETS, last month. Been out twice, so far. We love it. It feels just like a home.

This is a really georgous trailer. You both did real good. It should serve your needs for a long time to come. It was fun seeing you and the family again.

Congratulations, nice trailer. You have also left room for the next two or three footitis attack. Once you are maxxed out there isn't much to look forward to.

Thanks everyone, we are very excited about and love all the new creature features and storage. We have lots to learn.

Thanks Ernie for all your help last weekend, we will have to meet up again soon especially since we are both in the valley. lol.

Clutch, We can't go any larger if we want to store it at home otherwise we would have to pay for storage offsite. That is not going to happen for us. Being in AZ we like to keep our toys covered. DH had built a cover for our old unit but now he has to extend it another 3 feet in order for the front cap to be shaded. We are at the max extension of the cover and driveway length so this will be it for a long long time.

We will definitely enjoy it.

Great looking trailer.

Do you have any favorite places to camp in Payson area that will take a trailer of your size? I'm in Chandler and always looking for new places to go to in Flag and Payson areas. We usually dry camp near Bear Canyon Lake or hit Aspen campground at Woods Canyon lake. Any pointers would be appreciated.
