We want to change out J-Steel Sofa Bed

We're new to the forum and just bought our Jayco Jayflight 33BHTS last October. We're getting ready to hit the road and are finding the sofabed that came with it pretty uncomfortable so we wanted to switch it out for possibly a pair of recliners. We can't find any that might fit - does anyone have any suggestions? We're trying to keep the cost down. Thanks for any advice.

Well I had an idea till you said " keep the price down". We have 2 stress less recliners at home that are very comfortable and worth every penny's worth. They would fit in the space of your sofa but maybe for you to justify the price you could put them in the house when your not camping. Ours were $2,500 each but some designs are much less expensive. They come in sizes and styles to fit your weight and height.

Our trailer (28 BHBE) has the same basic slide configuration, though I'm not sure about the measurements because ours has the U-shaped dinette, so it might be a little bigger.

Anyway, I was thinking about taking our Hide-a-bed out and dropping some of these in there:

And at about $70 each, the price is definitely right.

We also have the storage ottoman, so that would help with kicking our feet up. According to the website, I would have about 3-5 inches of extra space if I put them in the slide with the backs up against the window. However, they are light enough that I could easily slide one out and angle the other toward the TV if we wanted to have movie night. Or I could leave them in the slide if we just want to relax with a book or something.

Either way, for us, some kind of chair would be a definite improvement. We have plenty of bed space, so we'll never need to fold it down. And it's okay for sitting in to watch movies or read, but it's not great.

Anyway, DW doesn't want to make the change any time soon, but this is the best solution I've got going so far...

I removed the wall mounted benches from my toy hauler and replaced them with a couple of cheap (but comfortable) swivel recliners. Seems like they were about $120 each. More comfortable and more versatile.

There are several less expensive copies of the "stressless" chairs available at most furniture wholesale places. We have the "real thing" in our house and highly recommend them, but would have trouble putting them in our GH 31, probably won't fit thru the doors either. LOL

I have been trying to figure out how I could extend the j-steel sofa so there would be longer leg room when using it for sleeping or napping. So far I haven't figured it out, but keep thinking..lol
