What Are These Valves?

So underneath my sink I see two valves which just spin and seem to do nothing. I believe the lines go to my overflow lines....anyways it seems one of my overflow valves has a constant slow leak. Is this normal and what can be done? And what are those valves for??

A pic would help identify them but probably low point drains. They are usually pull-up valves.

You are correct, they have a pin around them that keeps them in place. I took the pin out and lifted them up and got a nice splash. What is their purpose or how do they work?

For draining water out of the pipes. If hook up to city water or running pump, the water will not stop coming out of low point drains.

Also when you winterize, thats how to get the water out of the lines. Should be a sticker on the outside in the same area that says "LOW POINT DRAIN"

Actually it goes to the overflow tubes not the low point drain.

Hmm. So they don't drain out onto the ground? I guess I'm not getting what you were describing. I learn something every day.

No they do drain to the ground also. The "low point" drain sticker is on opposite side of trailer and that is where I drain the fresh water from.

You may have low point drains in multiple locations. Our 5th has 3 IIRC.

NO NO NO NO NO!
The pin retains the valve body. DO NOT pull any pins. Just pull straight up on the tee handle, ant the valve spills out below the coach. You pulled the retainer and allowed the valve body to come out, and allowed the valve to blow off INSIDE the coach.

Yes it was a STUPID thing for me to do. I did initially pull up on it and it was not moving. I will look at it again today.

I've found that when my low point drain valves are difficult to use that a small spray of silicone lube into the top of the valves helps.

Got them working, they just stick a bit. Thanks for everyone's help. On a side note, one of my fresh water drain lines is leaking slightly, any tips on replacement of fix. Wouldn't think in less than a year of trailer being built it would fail, but I know better now.

Not sure I understand "fresh water drain". Outside drain for the fresh tank?

Yes, I have two drain points. One that is labeled low point drain where I have two valves that open and close from outside. My other drains have a T handle that can only be accessed from inside of trailer that drain near the bumper of trailer and have no valves on outside just two tubes coming out from underbelly. They also work as overflow tubes when filling up fresh tanks.
