What is the length of my trailer?

We have a 2013 Jay Flight 22FB. When I make reservations for a campsite and am asked what is the length of my TT should I answer 22 feet (the length of the camping shell) or 26 feet (the length of the entire unit including the hitch)?

Thanks.

Been wondering the same thing as many state parks in California require under 30'. Planning to upgrade to either a 26BHS or 29QBS from my Pacific Coachworks Tango 21UL.

I had the same question and called a local state park campground. They wanted the total length of the trailer, from hitch to spare tire. This is to make sure you will fit on various sites, some have clear areas that are smaller due to trees, rocks, etc.

If you give them the size of the shell you may be stuck with a spot that is too short for your rig. I always give them the overall length of the TT.

Thanks everyone for your input. I'll be going with 26 feet going forward.

I have had the same question and when asked always say 36 "ball to bumper," even though the box is closer to 32.

Go a couple feet more. Tell them 28ft. Assures a big enough spot. If you tell them 26, they may put you in a spot for..let's say...20-26 footers. And you may have problems. I always pad it a couple extra feet.

For California State Parks, here is their page on RV length - this is determined by the access roads, height issues, campsite 'plot', and ability to park the TV (so it is 100% on the pad only): Maximum Trailer and RV Lengths

I wish every state would provide that info!
