What is this for on my grill bar??

No books with the grill. Figured out how to mount but don't know what this is for. Dealer gave me extra gas hose...needed it. Two hooked together made it much smoother.

Is it possible that that arm is upside down and backwards. I can't get exact detail from your pic but they really do look like utensil holders but if they appear upside down maybe they are.

I use mine for the utensils. To me, it looks like they have the utensil holders upside down.

There are rods that stick up to put the grill on, I tried turning sideways .. Won't work.

you wouldn't think they would install it upside down. Drill out the rivets and flip it and use screws. Has to be what it is for

Can't tell for sure from the picture but those look like spring clips - if so possibly to attach the gas line to the bar so it's not dragging on the ground and a potential trip hazard?

I just looked at mine. Your bracket is attached upside down. It's for hanging utensils. BTW, the gas line is already attached to the bar.

maybe a dumb idea, but may be easier to take the bar off and turn that upside down instead of drilling out the rivets. Just my $0.02

There are 2 posts on the top of the bar that the grill slides onto. Turning the bar upside down would put the posts on the bottom.

Exactly, can you not just rotate the square tube 180*? Not flip it around, but rotate it? That would leave the utensil holder facing the rear, and right side up. The grill mounts on the square tube should work this way too, no?

No. There are 2 posts that stick up. The grill has sockets that go over the posts. If the tube is rotated 180 deg then the posts would point down.

Ah, I see. I thought the mounts were configured differently. Looks like the "Russian Tractor" solution is the winner!
