Wheel Lean

Has anyone else noticed the wheels on their trailer leaning. When I back my 26BH into my driveway I have to make a sharp turn to get in. This, of course, causes the tires to scrub. After parking the trailer I can see that diagonally opposed front and rear tires are leaning at about 5 degree. It is very noticeable. If I work a bit and straighten the trailer out the lean disappears.

The trailer tows fine and the axles look straight so I'm just wondering if a)this is common and b)if it is advisable to leave the trailer parked with the wheels leaning this way. My instinct is to try and tighten up the wheel bearings (repacked and adjusted by me 3500 kms ago) but if this is normal I don't want to touch them.

This is exactly how they were designed to work. Turning puts a lot of torque and stress on the axles, so they are designed to flex and your wheels will look all out of sorts. You are doing the right thing though, pulling forward/backing up to straighten the axles back out.

Yes, it is doing what it is supposed to do. Don't leave it parked in that condition because it puts UN-necessary stress on the axles and tires.

That is normal. This is part of the reason you cannot use automotive rims on the trailer, as they are not made for the strains from flexing.
