Question Which Jayco

Which Jayco TT is the best one to purchase? I see they have a lot of different choices. Is one constructed better than the other, is insulation something to consider, etc.? Thanks for the help.

The Eagle is Jayco`s top of the line Travel Trailer, with more insulation, amenities and upgrades then the Jayflights. The way you will use your trailer, your personal preferences and of course how much you wish to spend should be considered in your decision. Many folks are very happy with the Jayflight and Jayfeather lines for their particular needs. BTW welcome to JOF!

You can make comparisons and build and price any units you want at this site:http://www.jayco.com/php/products/tr...l.trailers.php

Thanks, I have an '06 29Y. There are things I like, and, things I dislike. I am considering trading up. I don't like the low profile, because of the dragging issue. How would you rate the 29Y Jayfeather. The 28BHS that you have is exactly wht I'm looking at. Thanks again.

I think you will find the 28BHS is higher off the ground and dragging will not be an issue. Some of the earlier liteweights had issues with low ground clearance. We like our trailer for what we do with it, a family oriented floorplan without being super huge or heavy, but not a liteweight either.

Crabman, do you know anything about the 2" lift kit that Jayco offers? I'm wondering about the cost and installation? Thanks for your help.

Sorry, I do not other then I have heard that some others have used some sort of lift kit. Try posting a question in the "TechTalk" forum about it and you may get a response from someone with actual experience with it. You could aslo do a search here http://www.rv.net/forum/ which is a useful resource also for RV questions/issues.

Welcome to the Jayco Owners Forum Bereta1! Within the Jay Flight family you will find some upgrades/added amenities in the G2 models than the non-G2's. Crabman's 28bhs has the same model jack-n-jill floorplan as our 29bhs G2. Little differences between the two includes non-G2's have: no cover on the stove; manual awning vs electric; no sconces on walls by couch slide; no tv in living area. When will you be getting your new Jayco?

I have a 2011 31RKS G2. Since they eliminated the G2 for 2012, I wonder if the new Jay Flights have those little differences metioned in your posts.

That's right, I remember hearing that. I guess one way to know for sure is to call Jayco direct.

as far as the question about the lift goes, I did hear they make an option. Our dealer, campers barn in kingston NY offered another solution to a friend of ours who we just talked into a jayco. The reversed the axle and springs..put the axle under the springs instead of on top..solved his concerns with no cash outlay!!
By the way...We LOVE our 28bhs...great for a large famiy, not in number but stature. 2 6 years olds, on 6'3 dad and average size wife! but a 100 pound lab that HAS to go...best camper purchase we ever made!

Not real sure when we'll upgrade. Our 29Y is fine for now. Just checking to see what's available. Also, looking at a 25BHS. Thanks for the help.

They are offering more options for the Jayflight so I suppose you can make a G2 out of it or customize it to get what you want.

Our first TT was a 2010 Jayfeather 24T. It was a great starter for us. Just traded for a 2012 Jay Flight 29 RLDS (loaded). We really, really like it. Considered the Eagle Super Lite, but chose the Flight as we were concerned about fiberglass delamination, which we had experienced with the 24T.

Toytech, did water cause the delam? It didn't take long for it to delaminate. What did Jayco say was the cause of it? I take it that your trailer was still under warranty, hopefully Jayco took care of you to your satisfaction.

Because we are long timers we wanted an Eagle for all it's features. If we were still working and weekending we wouldn't have bought as large or as fancy.

Murphie..yes, still under warranty so we contacted our selling dealer, a great bunch of folks BTW, said to bring it in so they could inspect, take photos, etc. Well, we ended up trading up before that could take place. I feel Jayco would have fixed it, but now its a moot point.
