IMO no, it will help with addressing issues associated with the rear of the TV. The WDH needs to be sized/adjusted correctly to address your "ultimate goal" with your TV's front suspension.

Raising the rear with bags are going to help a little bit with the weight transfer, and you do need to go back and chec/readjust, but if you can't do it with the hitch adjustment alone, you have some other issues that probably need to be looked. I guess my point is to not depend on bags to do the WD for you.

I measured my fender height on both the front and the rear of my 3/4 ton suburban on both sides before I hitched the trailer. After I hitched the trailer and adjusted the WDH and got the front end of the tow vehicle back to its original weight, the measurement on the front fender was the same, too. Same weight, same fender height.

We have a 29N. Check to see if another link in the chain helps. Also check the tongue weight. Looks like might have a little to much up front. Bags helped with the ride, not the carrying capacity.

If he's back to the original height, why would he want to use a different link. Along with that, just trying different links until it "seems" right is not the way to adjust a WD hitch.

I believe member "rwstinson" is referring to the OP's (Jester65) initial issue in his original post......., not "Swingrrr's" post.

Will Air Bags Help Me?

The tongue weight of the TT is right at 1,000 lbs., which is just at acceptable limit of the truck with WDH. Not sure I can overcome all that tongue weight with just the hitch and spring bars. I know that airbags will help bring up the rear, but my front is currently 3/4" high. Is it possible that airbags used in conjunction with the spring bars can get my front end back down?

If your WDH is rated at 1,000lbs "minimum" and when adjusted correctly, it will return the front of your TV's front suspension back to it's unhitched height (without the help of air bags).

I use the firestone airbags with my 2112 GMC Sierra 4x4 It does really need much air to make it level 30lbs or so.
I have the model with the pump and gauge under my dash.....This works well on bouncy roads and I just add a little more air to keep the trailer from bouncing.
I also had these on my 2005 silverado and they really made a great difference in ride...The silverado bags did not fit the 12'GMC so I had to buy new bags.
I recommend them foe excessive hitch weight.
I have the nearly new bags if you would be interested the fit 1998 to 2007 GM trucks and need abou $10 of fill tubes to complete.
