Winter season is underway!

Hi folks: just wanted to check-in, it's been a while since I've been active in the boards.

We set the camper up at Danforth Bay in Freedom NH on Black Friday, and the winter season officially started December 9.

I'm running it essentially dry, but the campground has winterized spigots at the site, so we're pulling water into a 5 gallon Gatorade cooler for service water. We are hooked to the sewer, and while heat is on, I have no problem using holding tanks.

The sites get a bit "small" after a couple plowings:

But, it's all worth it for snowmobile camp!

Have fun this winter!

Craig from NH

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing. The Jayco looks real nice and cozy in the snow.

I am a bit jealous that you are at a snow machine camp. We have had some riders getting out up here, but those are trail guys. Not really enough snow in the back country yet for us mountain sled users. Here are a couple from last season.

Thanks everyone! Yep, so far pretty good. Ice fishing is also on the docket as soon as the ice is in. I'm probably the worlds worst fisherman.... but I keep taking the dear daughters out to "show" them how to fish.

Mountain sledding is something I've never had opportunity to do... looks Awesome! But yeah, I'm mostly a trail rider type.

So far the jayflight has done well with cold, but admittedly nothing too fierce yet... cold enough to slush a 12 pack of beer, but that was while we weren't camping. I am looking into an electric heat source, mainly to cut down on condensation.

If you are using the Jay Flight furnace for heat, that should not contribute any condensation inside the trailer. Lots of moisture comes from breathing, cooking, showering etc. Use the stove fan when cooking/boiling water/perking coffee and the bathroom fan when the shower is running, to help remove that moisture.

After that, if you still have condensation inside, you'll need to increase the ventilation by cracking a ceiling vent or window to lower the inside humidity.

We had a Class B MH with no furnace (we were younger and tougher then ) with 2 adults and one big dog, the windows would be dripping wet each morning. Cracking a side window or the ceiling vent fixed that.

You guys are stout! Very cool - no pun intended.

We just returned from our Christmas (winter) trip in Florida. The night temperatures dropped as low as 58. The days barely got above 78-80, but we endured and made it work. Now we are back in frigid Alabama. Hunker down, boys!
