Winterization question

Hello Everyone, I have a question about winterizing. I have an extra water pump that I can mount to a 5 gallon bucket and I was thinking I can fill the bucket with rv antifreeze and just connect it by hose to the water hookup and pressurize the system with the anti-freeze. Then open and close all the water supplies & toilet and it would be done. The question is would this also get the antifreeze to the water pump in the trailer? I have never used the pump since we are on a seasonal site and have a water hookup. Just not sure how the plumbing is routed? Has anyone else done it this way?
Thanks for any thoughts!

I suppose it would work, but using the winterizing kit on the waterpump would be much easier and possibly use less antifreeze. It would also make sure you have antifreeze in the water pump. On the waterpump there is a open hose with a valve on it, that goes into a jug of antifreeze and you turn on that valve. You turn off the valve that feeds the waterpump from the water tank. Then turn on the waterpump until the jug is empty, switch to next jug. Less then two gallons of antifreeze should do the job, PROVIDED the hot water tank has been bypassed. More info on winterizing:

here`s a pic of a waterpump and the hoses. The clear hose goes in the jug. The valves are in the normal position, NOT the winterizing position in this picture.
