Would like to install an exhaust fan

Hey, y'all, we have a 174BH. I'd love to have an exhaust fan installed in the bathroom. We had a Fantastic Fan in another camper and that thing would pull air like a whole house fan. The dealer told us they couldn't install a fan there because there is a stud between the light and the vent.

Could a solar fan be an option?

Thanks!

Don't you have a static vent in your bathroom, its usually a fantastic fan setup without the fan. You can buy just the fan and there may be power already there, if not pull power from ceiling light.

bathroom fan

I'm in the process right now of installing a Maxxair vent in my 174BH bathroom. Pulled 12v from the ceiling light by drilling a hole through the wood member between the light and fan opening. Tied into the wires in the light fixture and fished wires over to the fan opening. When you go to caulk in the new fan, buy the blue can of Ultrasealant Primer and get a tube of the Ultrasealant caulk by Dico. No other caulk will stick to the roof membrane because it is a TPO roof. I tried several different caulks by letting them dry on the membrane and then seeing how easily they could be pulled off; they pulled off too easily for my liking.

What is your experience when buying a ceiling fan. Can you share? And what is the best price do you suggest?
Thanks.

It can be done. I fished the wire under the 2x4.

I put this one in my 195RB Hengs Vortex reversible, multispeed fan

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

No changes to outside lid, did from inside. Works great!

Took me longer to read instructions and gather tools then the actual install.
No big deal to fish wire but took a while to figure how to get ceiling light out and test hot before connecting.
Spouse held fan up while I made connections and tested. Then handed me screws and screwdriver while I held it in place.

I also installed a Vortex 2 in my small trailer. Like you, I had a stud between the light fixture and the vent, so I just drilled a hole through the stud and fished the wire through it. The Vortex fan is a direct replacement in the standard vent - nothing needs to be done on the outside of the trailer - everything is done inside.
Good luck & happy camping!
