Would you buy another Jayco

Yes. We bought our 3rd Jayco last year. First one was a '93 1208 PUP, kept it for 10 years. Replaced by a '03 Kiwi 17a Hybrid, kept that for 10 years. Now the '13 X20E.

Good construction quality. Floor plans that work well for our needs. Fit and finish is a little sloppy on every unit we bought, but they hold up well.

Let's just say that I would lean toward buying another Jayco... until proven otherwise.

Everything changes. That same brand of corn you've purchased for years at the store- Someday you will try some other brand, whether it be because you were unhappy with the last can you purchased, that's the brand Aunt Martha serves when you have dinner at her house or a completely different reason.

I've only had mine since January, and only had it out once. On that outing, it performed flawlessly! So far, I'd say yes; but will have to see how the next 10-15 years treat it/me!

We had had our a little over a year. I'd say yes at this point. Only minor issues and I have fixed them all.

I would, because the current one hasn't given me any reason not to. That said, I really don't have any "brand loyalty" per se, so whoever has the floor plan that I'm looking for at the best price, with a good quality reputation, would likely get my business next.

Lets face it....all TT manufacturers pretty much equip their product from the same small pool of appliance suppliers (Atwood, BAL, Norcold, Thetford, Dexter, Alpha, etc.....) - as for my future purchase, it will come down to construction quality, warranty and price (and to a lesser degree...floorplan, selection)

I like the fact Jayco uses screws and bolts...I like the fact I *had* a (2) year warranty... overall Jayco construction quality is debatable (but using screws / bolts and having a 2 year warranty over competition, trumps). The price I originally paid was VERY fair buying an in stock unit - but timing is everything, and if I had to order my next unit....paying a premium may push me to take a hard look elsewhere.

A continuing influence for my future purchases is having a strong local Wholesaler.

I was looking to buy my third Jayco, but they are just a bit to proud of them. Had the same problem when buying my toy hauler, and ended up with a different brand there as well. Great product, just over priced.

We've bought 3 Jayco's and each time, compared them to others before making the final decision We not only felt we got best value with Jayco, the dealer experience played a big role in our decision.

We just took delivery on our 2013 Eagle 314BDS and traded-in our 2007 JayFlight 25RKS.

Maybe: Mine has been a good 5er. Seemed to be a lot of little things go wrong the first year or so. Very disappointed in the service/warranty when I had the leak while under warranty and the rear wall had to be replaced.

I have to say maybe.

We paid about $30K for our new Eagle 284BHS last year. For that kind of money. I'd expect better quality control and workmanship. While we like and enjoy our 2013 Eagle, all things considered, we feel we somewhat overpaid for what we got.

But had we known what we would have got for the money with the Eagle and had I known we could have got a Jay Flight with smooth sides, We would have bought the same floor plan in a Jay Flight.

Absolutely. Just like any product the only ones you really hear about are the bad ones and based on the number of units they sell the complaints are really few.

And in response to Bobx2's comment that is really a dealer issue and whether they are willing to negoitate. My son got his 17zx for $2000 less from our dealer in Cincy than the dealer near him in Chicago was willing to sell it for and both were a new order not an in stock unit.

We just bought another Jayco. Currently we have 2, although the smaller one is now for sale. We wouldn't consider buying new as you take too much of a hit on its value. My wife does not like the smooth sides, so aluminum sideing is a must. I have had rubber roofs and have learned that I dont like them, so a metal roof is also a must.

bought my first fold down (a jay series 1206) in 1983, since than I have had 2 more fold downs, a hybrid travel trailer, and have just got my second fifth wheel in march. I have looked at many different units over the years but always buy Jayco.

there is a lot of good and not so good out there in all different price ranges. but I think Jayco has proven themselves

I voted a definite maybe because:

1) The general design and engineering of my trailer seem to be good. My frame has not cracked, a holding tank has not fallen out, there have been no major disasters.

2) Here's the but: the assembly quality of my trailer is not good. Examples: screws over torqued all over the trailer; windows not installed and sealed properly; cheap choice of exterior hatches and connections; minimum spec tires; awful RCA LCD tv; all plastic bathroom faucets which don't last; improper routing and installation of RG-6 cable; craptastic 40 amp non-controllable converter; heat from truly awful RCA TV made thermostat installed close behind it wildly inaccurate; vinyl strip around exterior door molding kept blowing out; sofa does not remain stationary in slide when towing; plumbing and electrical seem to be just hurriedly and sloppily installed; not sealed well against water intrusion; vacuum breaker on black tank washer will on its best day just dribble water inside your trailer.

I've got all shown in 2) fixed or replaced except for the sloppy plumbing and electrical for which I cross my fingers.

That is partially true. When shopping for an Octane, I tried dealing with the same dealer that I had bought by previous two Jayco's from. He flat would not work with me on the price, and if I would have been willing to take a week off from work and drive back east, I could have purchased what I was looking at here for about $8000 less. However, when looking for my 5th wheel, the HT was the same price back east as it was here. My Heartland was $7000 cheaper, and it is every bit the trailer that the Jayco is.

When I make a large purchase, I do a lot of research. I am completely happy with my present TT, and would first look at Jayco's if I was in the market for another. That said, I would also look at other makes as well, then make an informed decision. But alas, this will be my last TT. I will soon be retiring(2 to 3 years), and moving to the area where I camp.
