x-chocks - one or two

Does one do the job or are two needed?

Thanks,
Mark

One will do the job, but I think you would be happier with two.
If the purpose is to reduce the rocking of the trailer, I would certainly get two of them.

Just bought 2 - camping world has them on sale for 49.00, hope to test out next weekend. All the people I talk to at campsites swear by them.

After you put them on, you might have to tighten them again after your tires cool.

I do not have the X-Chock brand, but I do use two, and I do tighten/check them and my stabilizers every day. Usually the chocks stay tight, but I really crank on them when I am installing them.

Two. You don't want either side to move.

I was thinking on using fastways on one side (e.g more/less regular chocks) and x-chocks on the other side. Is that not the best way to go? Supposedly double protection, if one theory fails, other theory holds true.

fastways link...

got a 2 pack off e-bay for 75 shipped to my door. they are the first thing i do at a campsite and the last when leaving. If you have a camper roll foward after chocking you will have these. Thank goodness the little one was on his bike and i was entering the camper. scared the devil out of me but no damge.

I just made myself a free one that works just as good as our old X-chocks ...

ID:	4597I took a scissor jack from my wife's old Toy*ta's trunk and cut a piece of 4"X4" into two 45 degree chocks, drilled the ends of the jack and screwed some decking screws into them from the inside out. Works better than our old, broken X-chocks ever did, it was free and no more rocking in the TT!! I'll attach some pictures. It was quick, easy and cheap. Heck it was free! I had everything sitting in my garage! I will make a second one just in case I experience any shaking in our next outting. Hope this helps. And I hope the pictures actually attach this time.

So I unpacked my x chocks, instructions state to not adjust jacks with x chocks installed. Now my military days tell me that "chocks" are used to hold wheels in place. I understand how they say that somebody could damage their x chocks, however, are you really rolling the wheels enough by lifting the tongue?? To me it seems like it wouldn't.

The question? How many of you adjust stabilizers and such after installing you x chocks?

Josh
