2014 Sport 10 awning

Our dealer didn't install the awning on our new 2014 Sport 10 when we bought it last week. We got home to discover that the poles were still shrink-wrapped inside the camper. Since the dealer is 1 1/2 hrs. away we want to know if we can install the poles ourselves. I've read the instruction manual carefully but it is little help. Can anyone give us instructions on how to do this? I know from a previous camper how the poles attach to the top of the camper and to the ground or the bottom of the camper, but the two halves (each containing 2 legs) aren't hooked together. There are, however, two short pieces (one with a 1/2" hole in the middle and the other with 4 screw-sized holes) that can slip into the larger halves joining them together. There are no corresponding holes in the leg-containing pieces for screwing the two halves together, and I don't want to go drilling holes if they aren't needed. Finally, assuming that the two halves are permanently attached together, are they attached to the fabric awning or removed every time we take the awning down.

Thanks for your help. The tech guy at the dealer was clueless and said he would have to contact Jayco. I guess they don't sell many pop-ups.

awning video

Thanks for the reply, but I have seen this video many times and the awning hardware shown is not similar to that included with the 2014 model we have.

Had a similar issue/question with our 1207 we got. I contacted Jayco and after some confusion they found an old manual which answered my question. The small bars fit into the rail joining them together. The four holes are for #8x1-1/4 self tapping screws. Those screws go straight through and drill through the rail and into the other small bar with the single hole. The single hole bar is for an optional screen room pole. Once that is complete the entire assembly attaches to the end of the awning in a similar way to how the bag attached to the camper.
