AC leaking.

Opened the PUP after 8" of rain to let the sun hit it a couple of days before winterizing the water system. Found the booth area all wet. cushions only. Put cushions in sun to dry and pulled the cover off the inside air conditioner an found 2 of the bolts out 1"other two finger tight only. inspected gasket an it looked good except not compressed. Tightened all 4 to a good even tightness measured with inch pound torque wrench. Gasket now compressed and I do not think it will leak. Was told by PO that there was a water heater bypass. NOT. traced lines from heater to outside shower and no by pass. I have a fitting so I blew the system out and added RV antifreeze to traps. any thing else I need to do before closing and covering?

Did you drain the water heater?

How about your outside shower - did those lines get blown out?

Did you drain the lines before blowing them out - otherwise there could be a low spot with water still in the lines. I prefer to drain the lines, and then fill the lines with antifreeze (although others have had success with just blowing them out- but you have to make sure the lines are empty of water).

Do you plan to leave your battery installed? Is it disconnected from any load? If it is fully charged and not subject to any loads from your trailer (like a propane detector, for example) it is probably all right to leave it installed. Otherwise, remove it and store it someplace protected from freezing and charge it up.

Yes I did drain the water heater before blowing out anything. Put the plug back in to blow out then removed the plug for winter.

I have also removed the battery and have it in my shop on a battery tender. It is a blue Optima Gel type. Its been a good one.
I also had the same problem wit a motor home we had. easy fix if gasket is not damaged.Every one that buys a used camper of any type should check those 4 bolts.

Well I looked in the cabinet where the pump is and sure enough low point drains thru floor. Pulled both handles up (open) and only got a dribble of water under the camper, with the faucets open for air. I had it pretty well dry but I feel better knowing there are drains. Now to install a bypass and pump in the pink stuff.
