My 3 year old knows not to touch it unless he is "helping daddy" setting up or tearing down. Worked when he was 2 and now 3. No issues

On my Coleman, I wrapped a bungee cord around the crank to hold it against the shaft.

standing in corner

FPM < I had one hard nose kid that thought standing in the corner was funny , UNTILL after 10 min , of listening to them I said , OK , ON YOUR TOES NOW , it wasn't as funny then .

See... you found that button I was talking about. Interestingly, over time, I've discovered that adults have them too! However, they're harder to find.
